Build House Pad
Every new home starts with a solid house pad. We carefully build out the house pad to match the site plans, creating the foundation layout for the house, garage, and porches—ensuring the home is built on level, stable ground.
Backfill Stem Wall
A stem wall is a raised block foundation built by a concrete contractor, and our job is to properly backfill it. We deliver fill dirt and backfill the foundation in compacted lifts—typically every two blocks, or about 16 inches—using skid steers to place and compact the material until the pad reaches grade. This process ensures a stable, well-compacted base ready for the concrete slab.
Safety Grade
A safety grade is performed after the foundation is poured to prepare the site for framing. We remove and level the excess dirt piles left from the footer excavation, smooth and balance the lot, and clean up any concrete washout. This creates a safer, cleaner work area around the home for framers and other trades to move around without tripping hazards.
Driveway Cut & Rough Grade
After the home’s exterior is complete, we perform a driveway cut and rough grade to prepare for the driveway, sidewalk, and final lot balance. We cut and prepare the driveway and sidewalk areas per the site plan, scrape the lot to remove grass and weeds, and fill any washouts or ruts. Our team also cuts in drainage swales and ensures proper water flow across the lot, leaving it ready for concrete or paver installation.
Final Grade
A final grade is the last phase of site preparation before irrigation, landscaping, and sod installation. After the driveway or paver work is complete, we grade the entire lot—including the front, sides, and backyard—for proper drainage. Following the site plan and survey swale stakes, we cut swales to the required elevations and hand rake areas where machines can’t reach, leaving a smooth, finished surface ready for sod.
